The Czaia & Gallagher-HurtByAccident.com/Crozier Motorsports Team Takes 8th place at the AMA Daytona 200
Sunday, 27 March 2011 18:01

Pulling off the startline, Beaubier immediately began to move up and by the end of the first lap he was already in 14th. Putting his head down, he continued to gain spots and by lap 20 he was running in 12th.

Due to concerns about tire wear, the AMA threw a red flag at the end of lap 20 for a mandatory front tire change. After more consideration and talks with Dunlop, they further decided in the interests of safety, that all riders would need to be fitted with entirely new-spec backup fronts which were stored in Dunlop's garages. Outfitting the entire field and warming the tires was a long process and resulted in a two-hour delay.

In addition, keeping both the competitors’ safety and the tires' capabilities in mind, AMA Pro officials decided to shorten the rest of the race to a final 15-lap sprint race.

When the flag signaled the restart, Beaubier was again ready to go. Starting off in 12th place, he once again began to move up and by the end of the 15 laps he was in 8th place overall.

“Cameron did an incredible job for us,” says C.J. Czaia. “He is an extremely skilled young rider. Being able to put everything together in just two weeks and take a top ten finish is a testament to the dedication, determination and professionalism of everyone on the Czaia & Gallaagher-HurtByAccident.com/ Crozier Motorsports team. Everyone did an incredible job and it was a great race.”
